2、in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This specification covers performance requirements,testmethods,and marking requiremen

3、ts for metric-and inch-sizedsystem components(electrofusion and mechanical fittings)when joined with metric-or inch-sized PEX pipe(SpecificationF2788)as a system,intended for use up to and including amaximum working temperature of 200F 93C.The follow-ing performance requirements are described for th

4、e fittings 68F 20C hydrostatic strength,176F 80C hydrostaticstrength,short-term internal pressure resistance,resistance totensile loads,cohesive resistance for electrofusion fittings atboth the minimum and maximum recommended temperatures,impact resistance for saddle fittings,and leak tightness and

5、pullout tests for mechanical fittings.The metric-and inch-sizedcomponents covered by this specification are intended for theabove-ground and buried pressure piping applications,such asindustrial&general-purpose pipelines,potable water pipelines,and fire extinguishing pipelines.1.2 The text of this s

6、pecification references notes,footnotes,and appendixes,which provide explanatory material.Thesenotes and footnotes(excluding those in tables and figures)shallnot be considered as requirements of the specification.1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separate

7、ly as standard.Within the text the SIunits are shown in brackets.The values stated in each systemmay not be exact equivalents:therefore,each system shall beused independently of the other.Combining values from thetwo systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.NOTE1Suggested hydrostatic

8、design stresses and hydrostatic pressureratings for pipe and fittings are listed in Appendix X1.Design,assembly,and installation considerations are discussed in Appendix X2.An optionalperformance qualification and an in-plant quality control program arerecommended in Appendix X3.1.4 The following sa
