3、ce is intended to serve as a guide fordetermining specific inspection requirements for marine sur-face preparation and coating application during newconstruction,major retrofit,or routine maintenance contracts.1.2 It is intended that this practice be used to coordinateinspection activities between s
4、hip owner,ship builder,coatingsmanufacturer and coatings applicator,and that specific require-ments be developed before the commencement of surfacepreparation or coating application,or both.1.3 This practice does not provide a means of recordingrequired data(for example,film thicknesses,temperatures
5、,relative humidity,and so forth),but instead establishes a formatfor deciding what data must be recorded,when during thepreparation/coating process,and by whom.1.4 This practice does not establish accept/reject criteria forsurface preparation or coating inspection,nor does it addressmethods of repai
6、ring deficiencies found.It does,however,provide a means of determining them.1.5 This standard may involve hazardous materials,operations,and equipment.This standard does not purport toaddress all of the safety concerns,if any,associated with itsuse.It is the responsibility of the user of this standa
