5、of equipment insuch a way that it remains with the product up through thepoint of sale.3.1.2 available to consumers,nthe manner in whichinformation is readily made available to customers,uponrequest or is on display,at the time of purchase.3.1.3 durably affxed,nthe manner of attaching informa-tion d

6、irectly to the product which endures for the life of theproduct.3.1.4 indicated on spools or packaging,nthe manner inwhich information is clearly made visible to purchasers of bulkquantities of climbing or mountaineering equipment.3.1.5 universal warning,na five-part statement designedto alert consu

7、mers to the inherent risks in climbing andmountaineering activities,and the most basic guidelines for useof climbing and mountaineering equipment.The warning shallread as follows:3.1.5.1 Failure to follow these warnings increases the risk ofinjury or death.3.1.5.2 You are responsible for your own ac

8、tions anddecisions.3.1.5.3 This product is designed for climbing and mountain-eering only.3.1.5.4 Climbing and mountaineering are inherently danger-ous.3.1.5.5 Special knowledge and training are required to usethis product.4.Requirements4.1 The appearance of any climbing and mountaineeringequipment

9、information designed to warn against known haz-ards associated with the use of the item shall be in accordancewith ANSI Z535.4-1991 for the appropriate hazard classifica-tion level.4.2 Terms used in climbing and mountaineering equipmentinformation shall be in accordance with Terminology F 1773.4.3 F

10、abric or textile labels that are affixed durably shallremain legible for the life of the product.4.4 Metal embossings shall remain legible for the life of theproduct.4.5 Pressure-sensitive labels shall remain legible for the lifeof the product.They shall comply with the applicable provisionof UL 969

11、-89.4.6 Product information shall include the following items inaccordance with the climbing and mountaineering labelingmatrix shown in Fig.1.4.6.1 Manufacturers or Distributors Name or LogoAclear indication as to who is responsible for the primarymanufacture or distribution,or both,of the product.4

12、.6.2 Size(if applicable)A means for the consumer todistinguish between different sizes of products under the samemodel name.Markings may be numerical,alpha,or colorcodes.4.6.3 Performance Rating(if applicable)Appropriate val-ue(s)as determined by test methods,interpreted using the threes rating as d
