、Designation:F510/F510M14Standard Test Method forResistance to Abrasion of Resilient Floor Coverings Usingan Abrader with a Grit Feed Method1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F510/F510M;the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or,in the

、 case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the U.S.Department of Defense.1.Scope1.1 This te

、st method2describes a laboratory procedure fordetermining the abrasion resistance of resilient flooring usingan abrader with a grit feeder.31.2 The equipment used in this test method is a modificationof the Taber abraser. The regular abrading wheels are replacedby leather clad brass wheels(rollers).A

、s the specimen holderrotates,a grit-feeding device feeds aluminum oxide grit ontothe specimen before it passes under the leather clad brasswheels.Using the vacuum system incorporated in theapparatus, the used grit and abraded material are removed afterpassing under both wheels.1.3 This test method em

、ploys a rotary, rubbing actioncaused by loose abrasive grit and the two abrading wheels.Onewheel rubs the specimen from the center outward and the otherfrom the outside toward the center. The wheels traverse acomplete circle and have an abrasive action on the rotatingspecimen at all angles. This action
