7、This Standard:3.2.1 C-rating,nmaximum steady-state current(amps)atwhich the battery cell or pack may be discharged withouthaving pack temperature exceed the CTT of its constituentcell(s)or result in a reduction in cell life.C-rating is expressedas a multiple of the capacity.For example,a battery wit
8、h anominal capacity of 4 Ah may have a C-rating of 5C,meaningthat 20 A would be considered its maximum safe current.3.2.2 characteristic thermal threshold,CTT,nthe tem-perature beyond which a rechargeable battery cell of particularchemistry and structure will exhibit permanent deterioration ofits cr
9、itical performance parameters as evident upon subsequentcharge/discharge cycles.Cell capacity and internal resistanceare critical performance parameters.CTT is rated at both upperand lower thresholds.3.2.3 depth of discharge,DOD,nratio of cell or packcapacity expended relative to its nominal capacit
10、y.3.2.4 pack,na single cell or composition of battery cellsconnected in series or in parallel or both plus monitoringelectronics,structure,and connector(s).3.2.5 pack assembler,nthat supplier which performs themanufacturing processes that integrate the essential compo-nents into a functional pack.In
11、 the event that multiple suppliersare involved in the assembly process,the pack assembler is thesupplier that performs the final electrical connection(s).Onesupplier may weld solderable tabs to a batch of cells,a secondsupplier may connect circuitry,wiring and a connector,and yeta third may install
