5、ce inwhich at least one contact is on,or made of,a flexiblesubstrate.2.1.3 specified open circuit resistanceminimum allowableresistance as measured between two test points that,if lowerthan,will indicate an electrical short.2.1.4 test pointan electrical input or outpoint connectionon the membrane sw
6、itch.3.Significance and Use3.1 Destructive and non-destructive tests characteristicsmust be evaluated to ensure the membrane switch will operateand survive the application it was designed for.It is not feasiblefor all tests to be performed on each membrane of a productionlot.However,there are some n
7、on-destructive tests that must beperformed on each switch assembly to ensure 100%function-ality and checking each i/o point for unwanted electricalcontinuity to any other i/o point is one of these characteristics.4.Apparatus4.1 Electrical Tester,capable of measuring the electricalresistance between
8、two test points.4.1.1 Electrical Tester must be capable of detecting a shortwhen a resistance is measured between any of the test pointsthat is less than the specified open circuit resistance.4.1.2 Since this is a non-destructive test,the applied voltageshould not exceed the specified voltage select
9、ed appropriately.5.Procedure5.1 Pretest Setup:5.1.1 Connect test points of the switch assembly to theElectrical Tester.5.1.2 Adjust test voltage source as necessary.5.1.3 Adjust threshold resistance to the specified opencircuit resistance.5.2 In-Process Test:5.2.1 Test first test point for shorts be
10、tween all other testpoints and record results.5.2.2 Test second test point for shorts between all other testpoints and record results.5.2.3 Repeat until all test points are checked between allother test points.6.Report6.1 Report the following information:6.1.1 Specified voltage,6.1.2 Specified short
