3、le by applying a pavement marking material onto asuitable substrate,followed immediately with an application ofdrop-on particles consisting of retroreflective optics or otherfunctional particles such as skid resistance particles suitable forlaboratory testing or display.Examples of pavement markingm
4、aterials appropriate for this practice would include water-borne traffic paint,solvent borne traffic paint,and pluralcomponent pavement markings such as epoxy,modified epoxy,polyurea,methyl methacrylate,and thermoplastic pavementmarkings.Plural component materials with extremely fast geltimes might
5、not be appropriate for this practice because thematerial gels too quickly to allow proper embedment of thedrop-on particles.1.2 The finished sample will consist of a pavement markingmaterial applied in a liquid state to a sample substrate at theprescribed film thickness,with drop-on particles applie
6、d at theprescribed drop rate and embedment level on the surface of thepavement marking material,and then properly cured.Thedrop-on particles may consist of retroreflective optics such asglass beads or composite optics,or non-retroreflective particlessuch as skid resistant particles,or several of the
