8、ensional stability of a fabric deter-mines whether a fabric has the potential to retain its originalshape and remain stable,indicating it will not bubble or sagover time,when applied over a substrate,and its suitability fora specified use.5.2 This test method is recommended for acceptance testingof
9、commercial shipments however,caution is advised sinceinformation about between laboratory precision is incomplete.Comparative tests as directed in 5.2.1 are advisable.5.2.1 If there are differences of practical significance be-tween reported test results for two laboratories(or more),comparative tes
10、t should be performed to determine if there is astatistical bias between them,using competent statistical assis-tance.At a minimum,use the samples for such a comparativetest that are as homogeneous as possible,drawn from the samelot of material as the samples that resulted in disparate resultsduring
11、 initial testing and randomly assigned in equal numbersto each laboratory.The test results from the laboratoriesinvolved should be compared using a statistical test forunpaired data,a probability level chosen prior to the testingseries.If bias is found,either its cause must be found andcorrected,or
12、future test results for that material must beadjusted in consideration of the known bias.5.3 This test method is used in industry to determine if afabric grows,grows and then shrinks,shrinks and then grows,or remains the same when subjected to a specified range ofhumidity and temperature conditions.
