3、f last reapproval.1.scope 1.1 This specification covers high-voltage,ozone-resistant rubber insulating tape designed for splicing electrical wires and cables operating up to 138 O00 V phase-to-phase under hoth wet and dry locations with conductor temper-atures up to 90C(194OF)for continuous op-erati

9、rely fastened.5.Tensile Strength and Elongation 5.1 The tensile strength of the tape,when tesfed in accordance with Section 21,shall be not less than 250 psi(1.7 mPa).5.2 The elongation of a 2-in.(50-mm)gage length determined simultaneously with the ten-sile strength test shali be not less than 700%

13、 is tested in accordance with Section 23,the maximum average dissi-pation factor and permittivity shall be less than 0.05 and 4.0,respectively.7.2 This is a performance test and is to be conducted by the manufacturer when any change is made.The manufacturer shall submit a copy of the test result whe
14、n requested by the purchaser.8.Volume Resistivity 8.1 When the fused tape is tested as specified in Section 24,the average volume resistivity shall not be less than 1014 Q-cm after Condition 96/23+des and not less than lOI3 Q-cm after Condition 96/23/96.9.Frision specified in Section 25.10.Ozone Res
15、istance 10.1 The tape shall show no injury after exposure for 3 h when tested in accordance with Section 26.9.1 The tape shall meet the fusion test as 11.Heat Resistance Il.I The sample shall be prepared in ac-cordance with Section 27.Support the entire mandrel in a circulating-air oven for 7 days a
16、t 130C(266F)after which the sample shall exhibit no visual porosity,blisters,delamina-tion,cracking.or visible sag.12.Ultraviolet Resistance 12.1 The sample shall be prepared and tested in accordance with Section 28.The weatherometer aged sample shall exhibit no cracking,crazing,or general physical deterio-ration after 1500 h.This is a performance test and is to be conducted by the manufacturer initially on each grade of tape and subsequently when any change is made.The manufacturer shall submit
