3、ant concretejoint sealer,of the hot-applied elastic type,intended for use insealing joints in concrete pavement in areas exposed to jet fuelspillage.It may be found useful in industrial areas wheresimilar conditions exist(see Appendix X1).1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstanda

4、rd.The values in parentheses are for information only.The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance to the standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to

5、 address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.Specific precautionstatements are given in Appendix X1.

7、 and Fillers,Hot-Applied,for Joints and Cracks in Asphaltic and Portland CementConcrete Pavements23.General Requirements3.1 The joint sealer shall be composed of a mixture ofmaterials that will form a resilient and adhesive compoundcapable of effectively sealing joints in concrete against theinfiltr

8、ation of moisture and foreign material throughout re-peated cycles of expansion and contraction with temperaturechanges,and that will not flow from the joint or be picked upby vehicle tires at summer temperatures.These characteristicsshall be maintained in the presence or absence of jet fuel orsimil

9、ar solvents.The material shall be capable of being broughtto a uniform pouring consistency suitable for completely fillingthe joints without inclusion of large air holes or discontinuities,and without damage to the material.On sawed joints,specialprecautions and designs will be required to accept ma

10、terialscovered by this specification.4.Physical Requirements4.1 Maximum Heating TemperatureThis is the maximumtemperature to which the material may be heated and stillconform to all the requirements specified.It shall be at least11C(20F)higher than the manufacturers recommendedpour point temperature

11、 and shall be provided the testing agencyprior to testing(see Appendix X1).4.2 Nonimmersed Penetration,at 25 6 0.1C(77 6 0.2F)and 150 g for 5 s shall be not more than 130.4.3 Immersed Penetration,at 25 6 0.1C(77 6 0.2F)and150 g for 5 s shall be not more than 155.4.4 Penetration Difference,between no

12、nimmersed and im-mersed penetrations shall be not more than 25.4.5 SolubilityThe gain or loss in weight on soaking in testfuel shall be not more than 6 2.0%,and there shall be noapparent defects during the soaking period that will affect thematerial as a sealing compound.4.6 Flow,after 5 h at 60 6 1

13、C(140 6 2F)shall be notmore than 30 mm.4.7 Nonimmersed BondAfter three cycles at-18 6 1C(06 2F),not more than one specimen out of three shall developany crack,separation,or other openings in the sealing com-pound or between the sealing compound and the mortar blocksthat at any point is over 6 mm(14i

14、n.)deep,measuredperpendicularly to the side of the sealing compound showingthe defect.4.8 Fuel-Immersed Bond After soaking in test fuel,asspecified,not more than one of the three specimens tested onextension at-18 6 1C(0 6 2F)for three cycles shall showcomplete cohesive failure of the material and t
