3、covers rigid PVC and CPVC com-pounds intended for general purpose use in extruded or moldedformincluding pressure piping applications and nonpressurepiping applicationscomposed of poly(vinyl chloride),chlo-rinated poly(vinyl chloride),or vinyl chloride copolymerscontaining at least 80%vinyl chloride
4、,and the necessarycompounding ingredients.The compounding ingredients shallbe permitted to consist of lubricants,stabilizers,non-poly(vinylchloride)resin modifiers,pigments,and inorganic fillers.NOTE1Selection of specific compounds for particular end uses orapplications requires consideration of oth
5、er characteristics such as thermalproperties,optical properties,weather resistance,etc.Specific require-ments and test methods for these properties should be by mutualagreement between the purchaser and the seller.NOTE2Selection of compounds for pressure piping applicationsrequires consideration of
6、material stress ratings that are required fordetermining pressure ratings,but are not addressed in this specification.Requirements for long-term material stress ratings in accordance withrecognized stress rating standards,such as HDB in accordance with TestMethod D2837 for pressure piping,should be
