3、agOpen-Cup Apparatus of the flash point and fire point of liquidshaving flash points between 18 and 165C(0 and 325F)andfire points up to 325F.1.2 This test method,when applied to paints and resinsolutions that tend to skin over or that are very viscous,givesless reproducible results than when applie

4、d to solvents.NOTE1In order to conserve time and sample,the fire point of amaterial may be determined by the Tag Open-Cup Method by continuingthe heating of the specimen to its fire point.Fire points may also bedetermined by Test Method D92,which should be used for fire pointsbeyond the scope of thi

5、s test method.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard.The values given in parentheses are for informationonly.1.4 This standard should be used to measure and describethe properties of materials,products,or assemblies in responseto heat and flame under controlled laborator

6、y conditions andshould not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard orfire risk of materials,products,or assemblies under actual fireconditions.However,results of this test may be used aselements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account allof the factors pertinent to an assessment o
