3、 Defense.1.Scope*1.1 This classification system standard covers rigid PVCand CPVC compounds intended for general purpose use inextruded or molded formincluding fittings and both pressureand nonpressure piping applicationscomposed of poly(vinylchloride),chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride),or vinyl chlor
4、idecopolymers containing at least 80%vinyl chloride,and thenecessary compounding ingredients.The compounding ingre-dients shall be permitted to consist of lubricants,stabilizers,non-poly(vinyl chloride)resin modifiers,pigments,and inor-ganic fillers.NOTE1Selection of specific compounds for particula
5、r end uses orapplications requires consideration of other characteristics such as thermalproperties,optical properties,weather resistance,etc.Specific require-ments and test methods for these properties should be by mutualagreement between the purchaser and the seller.NOTE2Selection of compounds for
6、 pressure piping applicationsrequires consideration of material stress ratings that are required fordetermining pressure ratings,but are not addressed in this specification.Requirements for long-term material stress ratings in accordance withrecognized stress rating standards,such as HDB in accordan
