8、 then added and thesolution will turn light blue.Two millilitres of the starchindicator is added.To this solution,one drop of iodine solutionfrom a buret is added.If the solution turns a dark blue andremains,then the aeration is complete.4.Significance and Use4.1 These test methods test the completi
9、on of aerationwhich is used to convert trivalent arsenic to pentavalentarsenic.5.Purity of Reagents5.1 Purity of ReagentsReagent grade chemicals shall beused in all tests.Unless otherwise indicated,it is intended thatall reagents shall conform to the specifications of the Commit-tee on Analytical Re
10、agents of the American Chemical Society,where such specifications are available.5Other grades may beused,provided it is first ascertained that the reagent is ofsufficiently high purity to permit its use without lessening theaccuracy of the determination.5.2 Purity of WaterUnless otherwise indicated,
11、referencesto water shall be understood to mean reagent water conformingto Specification D 1193.6.Sampling6.1 When the material to be sampled is a water solution,itshall be mixed to ensure uniformity and the sample shall be atleast 0.45 L and preferably 0.9 L.The sample shall berepresentative and tak
