3、nits are to be regarded as the standard.2.Applicable Documents 2.1 ASTM Standard:D2315 Testing Laminated-Wall Bitumin-ized Fiber Pipe2 3.(Materials and Manufacture 3.1 Pipe and Couplings Pipe and cou-plings shall be composed of a multi-ply lami-nated convolute or spiral fibrous structure,with the la
4、minations being adhered with a heat and water-resistant adhesive and then thoroughly impregnated with a bituminous compound.The pipe shall have a smooth interior surface free of obstructiions and rough or flaky areas.Bends,fittings,and adapters shall be of the same material as the pipe,or of a mater
5、ial having equal or better physical and chemical properties.3.2 Fillings Where fittings furnished are of other materials,such as cast iron or steel,they shall conform to any applicable ASTM specifications for such materials.4.Physical and Chemical Requirements 4.1 Pipe and couplings shall meet the p
6、hys-ical requirements prescribed in Table 1.4.2 Joint Tightness Any minor leakage at the joint shall have stopped by the end of a 24-h period.4.3 Longitudinal Permeability Any minor leakage of water from the ends of the pipe shall have stopped after 1 h.4.4 Water Absorption The maximum wa-ter absorp
7、tion shall be 2%of the original weight.4.5 Boiling Water Resistance Specimens shall exhibit not less than 90%of the crush-ing strength prescribed in Table 1.4.6 Heat Resistance The heat shall not cause a weight loss over 1%in the specimen due to exudation of the impregnant.4.7 Chemical Resistance Sp
8、ecimens shall show no visible sign of chemical reaction or deterioration of the impregnant.4.8 Kerosine Resistance Specimens shall meet the crushing strength requirements pre-scribed in Table 1.5.Dimensions 5.1 Pipe and Couplings Dimensions shall conform to those prescribed in Fig.1 and Table 3.5.2
9、Five-Degree Angle Couplings Dimen-sions shall conform to those prescribed in Fig.2 and Table 3.5.3 Bore The bore shall be straight and circular in cross-section as determined by passing a 1-m(40-in.)long mandrel 6.4 mm(At in.)smaller in diameter than the minimum inside diameter of the pipe,freely th

13、ze,select at random a number of lengths,equivalent to one half the cube root of the total number of lengths included in the lot,except that in lots of 1000 lengths or less,five lengths shall be taken.If one half the cube root,as calculated,proves to be a frac-tional number,express it as the next hig
14、her whole number.Test specimens shall not in-clude damaged pipe.Tapered joints shall not be included except as specified in Sections 27,37,and 40 of Method D 2315.7.Test Methods 7.1 Determine compliance with the re-quirements of this specification in accordance with Method D 2315.7.1.1 Resistance to
15、 Flattening Flattening loads are prescribed in Table 2.7.1.2 Crushing Strength Use the three-edge-bearing method.7.1.3 Joint Tightness Conduct the test for a period of 24 h.8.Inspection 8.1 Inspection of the material shall be agreed upon by the purchaser and the supplier as part of the purchase cont
16、ract.9.Rejection and Rehearing 9.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of this specification may be re-jected.Rejection should be reported to the producer or supplier promptly and in writing.In case of dissatisfaction with the results of the test,the producer or supplier may make claim for a rehearing.10.Certification 10.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract,a producers or suppliers certifi-cation shall be furnished to the purchaser that the material was manufactured,
