3、rties of refractories,such as density,crush-ing stress,modulus of rupture,tensile stress,thermalconductivity,and permeability.1.2 For convenience,a table of conversion factors betweeninch-pound units and SI units is included.1.3 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internati

6、mechanical properties of refractory materials byestablishing uniform presentation of data.3.2 Units have been chosen,where possible,to result innumbers of magnitude familiar in the refractories industry,thatis,g/cm3rather than the SI preferred unit kg/m3.It isrecommended that SI prefixes be selected

9、ld be rounded to the same number of significantfigures as in the original value.4.Standard Units4.1 DensityGrams per cubic centimetre(g/cm3).4.2 Energy or WorkJoules(J)or megajoules(MJ).4.3 MassGrams(g),kilograms(kg),or megagrams(Mg).4.4 Permeability is currently expressed in darcys.One darcyis a fl

10、ow of 1.00 cm3/s of a fluid of 1 centipoise(cP)viscositythrough a 1-cm cube of the material being measured under apressure differential of 1 atmosphere.Thus,a darcy is not an SIunit.No permeability units are given in Practice E380.Until anSI unit of permeability is adopted,express permeability indar
