3、ogram in facilities that are likely to beoccupied or visited by children under six or by pregnantwomen by providing an organized approach to using ASTMand other standards.Its purpose is to protect occupants,visitors,staff,other workers,and the environment from leadhazards in these facilities.1.1.1 F

5、ed or visited by children under six,or by pregnant women.It does not apply to occupationalexposures other than those resulting from maintenance,clean-ing,lead hazard control work,and other renovation and repairwork that generates lead hazards.1.2.2 This guide is based on federal and national standar
6、dsand guidelines that may be different from applicable state andlocal regulations.It does not,however,comprehensively ad-dress OSHA,EPA,or DOT requirements.It may not protect allusers,or occupants,visitors,staff,other workers,and theenvironment affected by their facilities from lead hazards.Users mu
7、st comply with applicable laws and regulations andmodify the guidance provided by this guide accordingly.Theuser is advised to adopt the most stringent version of eachrequirement among federal,state,and local regulations.1.3 Execution of work discussed or recommended in thisguide may cause exposure
