4、ame used by many state highway agencies andFHWA,while“vacuum tower asphalt extender”(VTAE)is thepreferred name used by the manufacturers of the product.Sinceeach name provides an important descriptor of productionelements(“re-refined”and“vacuum tower”)for the specificproduct this specification addre
5、sses,this specification uses theterm“REOB/VTAE.”1.2 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard.Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values fro

11、3.Materials and Manufacture3.1 REOB/VTAE shall be the product of processing usedengine oil using atmospheric distillation followed by vacuumdistillation to produce a vacuum residuum meeting the speci-fications outlined in Table 1 or Table 2.4.Physical Requirements4.1 The REOB/VTAE shall be homogenou
