13、aluation of the chemical resistance of a rubber tank and pipe lining applied to a metallic substrate.7 The test method exposes one side of a lined panel and closely approximates the service conditions involving the temperature differential between the external and internal surfaces of a tank vessel
14、that may accelerate the permeation of the lining by the corrosive medium.5.Significance and Use 5.1 The results obtained by this test method should serve as a guide in,but not as the sole basis for,selection of a lining material for a particular application.5.2 Pre-evaluation of lining materials mig
15、ht be performed more conveniently by the following test methods:5.2.1 D 171-Chemical resistance of the lining,and 5.2.2 D 349I-Chemical permeation of the lining,in-cluding the accelerated effect of temperature differentials such as often occurs in field service.6.Apparatus 6.1 Test Unit-The test uni
