3、ate(CaSO3H2O),calcium hydroxide(Ca(OH)2),calcium carbonate(CaCO3),and ash in flue gas desulfurizationsolids using a macro thermogravimetric analyzer.1.2 This instrumental test method is not applicable tothermogravimetric analyzers using microgram size samples.1.3 UnitsThe values stated in SI units a

9、wa-tered slurries resulting from the absorption of sulfur dioxide byslurries of lime or limestone fines in a flue gas desulfurizationprocess.3.1.2 free moisture,nthe moisture that evolves fromflue-gas desulfurization solids,clay materials,hydrated lime,and similar materials,when they are heated at t

10、emperaturesranging from 45 C to 60 C until a constant mass is reached.3.1.2.1 DiscussionFree moisture in these materials is notthe same as the free moisture in coal,as defined in TerminologyD121.3.2 For definitions of other terms used in this test method,refer to Terminology D121.4.Summary of Test M

11、ethod4.1 In thermogravimetric analysis,the mass of a sample ina controlled atmosphere is recorded repeatedly as a function oftemperature or time,or both.Macro thermogravimetric analy-sis(macro TGA)of flue gas desulfurization solids(FGD-Solids)uses a sample mass of approximately 1 g.In a typicalanaly

12、sis,the temperature is normally ramped from ambient toa specific temperature and held at that temperature for aprescribed length of time,and the correspondent specimenmass is repeatedly recorded by the instrument.4.2 FGD-Solids components:free moisture,gypsum,cal-cium sulfite hemihydrate,calcium hyd

13、roxide,calciumcarbonate,and ash are sequentially determined in a singlemulti-step heating program.The analysis of a particular com-ponent is complete when the specimen reaches a constant massor at the end of the step.4.3 Free Moisture is determined by measuring the massloss,caused by evaporating fre
