2、r in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification2covers three grades of zirconium andzirconium alloy forgings(see 4.1).1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound

3、 unitsare to be regarded separately as standard.The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,eachsystem shall be used independently of the other.Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 The following safety hazards caveat perta

4、ins only to thetest method portion,Section 12,of this specification:Thisstandard does not purport to address all of the safety problems,if any,associated with its use.It is the responsibility of the userof this standard to establish appropriate safety and healthpractices and determine the applicabil

6、,or forging machines;a lot shall consist of amaterial of the same size,shape,condition,and finish producedfrom the same ingot or powder blend by the same reductionschedule and the same heat treatment parameters.Unlessotherwise agreed between manufacturer and purchaser,a lotshall be limited to the pr

7、oduct of an 8 h period for finalcontinuous anneal,or to a single furnace load for final batchanneal.4.Classification4.1 The forgings are furnished in three grades as follows:4.1.1 Grade R60702Unalloyed zirconium.4.1.2 Grade R60704Zirconium-tin alloy.4.1.3 Grade R60705Zirconium-niobium alloy.5.Orderi

8、ng Information5.1 Orders for material under this specification shall includethe following information:5.1.1 Quantity(weight and number of pieces),5.1.2 Name of material(zirconium forgings),5.1.3 Finish(Section 9),5.1.4 Dimension(diameter,thickness,length,width,or asspecified in appropriate drawings)

9、,5.1.5 ASTM designation and year of issue,5.1.6 Grade number(see 4.1),and5.1.7 Additions to the specification and supplementaryrequirements,if required,including,but not limited to:productmarking(see 17.1),check analysis(see 7.3),inspection(see13.1),lot definition(see 3.1.1),internal soundness(see S

10、1.1),and surface quality(see S2.1)requirements.NOTE1A typical ordering description is as follows:8000-lb zirco-nium forgings,mechanically descaled,100 mm by 120 mm by 1.2 m.rectangular bar,ASTM B493/493M-08,Grade R60702.6.Materials and Manufacture6.1 The forgings shall be formed with conventional fo

11、rgingequipment normally found in primary ferrous and nonferrousmetal plants.6.2 Forgings shall be furnished in the annealed conditions.7.Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 1.7.2 The manufacturers ingot analysis shall b

12、e considered thechemical analysis for forgings,except for hydrogen andnitrogen,which shall be determined on the finished product.7.3 When requested by the purchaser and stated in thepurchase order,a check analysis for any elements listed inTable 1 shall be made on the finished product.7.3.1 The manu

13、facturers analysis shall be considered asverified if the check analysis confirms the manufacturersreported values within the tolerances prescribed in Table 2.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee B10 onReactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys and is the direct responsibili
