3、 with polyester fabric,with orwithout granules,that use atactic polypropylene(APP)as theprimary modifier and are intended for use in the fabrication ofmultiple ply roofing and waterproofing membranes.NOTE1Many modified bituminous sheets are currently marketed withpolyester mat reinforced with glass
4、yarns to improve processing in themanufacture of the finished modified bitumen product and to reducedistortions that may be introduced during production.These glass yarnsare typically a small percentage of the reinforcement and do not contributeto the physical properties of the finished product so m
5、uch as to make theseproducts be classified by Specification D6223.1.2 This specification is intended as a material specificationonly.Issues regarding the suitability of specific roof construc-tions or application techniques are beyond the scope of thisspecification.1.3 The specified tests and proper
6、ty limits used to charac-terize the sheet materials covered by this specification areintended to establish minimum properties.In-place roof systemdesign criteria such as fire resistance,field strength,impact/puncture resistance,material compatibility,uplift resistance,the need for field applied coat
7、ings,and others,are factorsbeyond the scope of this material specification.1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard.The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,eachsystem shall be used independently of the other.

12、ibe the materialsurfacing:4.2.1 Grade GGranule surfacing.4.2.2 Grade SSmooth surfacing.5.Materials and Manufacture5.1 In the process of manufacture,the reinforcement issaturated with APP modified asphalt and is impregnated andcoated on both sides with anAPPmodified bituminous coating.The APP modifie
